Overload, starting, starting currents

Overloading in starting phase:

The engines withstand 1.5 times the rated current for a period of 2 minutes at normal temperatures without suffering damage and can be overloaded with 1.6 times the rated torque for a period of 15 s. Table O indicates the maximum starting time for motors protected by PTC thermistors. Are allowed two consecutive starts.

Starting current, apparent starting power:

The starting current is indicated in the data table which multiple value of rated current.
These values are also used to calculate the apparent starting power "Pa" with the following formula:

Pa = Ö3 · U · Ia / 1000 [kVA]

where U is the rated voltage.
